Warner Bros. gives the green light to ‘Wonder Woman 3′, again with Gal Gadot as DC Comics’ Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman 1984 has been convincing critics and audiences in general since its theatrical release on December 18 and apart from Wonder Woman 3, already in development at Warner Bros., director Patty Jenkins also has plans for a fourth installment of the saga, logically with actress Gal Gadot as DC Comics Wonder Woman. At the moment, the sequel to Wonder Woman (2017) has already been seen by more than half of the subscribers of HBO Max -available in the US since December 25-, while in theaters it has raised more of 85 million dollars – almost 17 million in its premiere.

Patty Jenkins is also upon the Rogue Squadron, a Star Wars movie about fighter pilots, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t made plans for Wonder Woman 3 and the future of the Amazon princess played by Gal Gadot. “The story continues after this [ Wonder Woman 1984 ] in movies that she may or may not direct, ” the filmmaker said on EW .”I have two more stories that become the culmination of this story and are about women who show their faces as women, in the most affectionate, pure, and organic way possible. And [also about] making a difference in the world without having to change who they are to do it. ”

A THIRD MOVIE SET IN THE PRESENT?
After Wonder Woman -which amassed more than 822 million dollars at the world box office- and this good reception of 1984 -which also has the participation of Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig in its cast-, the future of Wonder Woman on the big screen it seems more than assured. If the first part took place during World War I and the second in the 80s of the 20th century, Warner Bros. may decide to set the next Diana of Themyscira in the present.

On the future of Warner Bros. and DC Comics once Wonder Woman 1984 was released, on August 6, 2021, James Gunn’s Suicide Squad is released. Then it will be The Batman (March 4, 2022) by Matt Reeves with Robert Pattinson as Bat Man, The Flash (November 4, 2022) by Andy Muschietti with Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Aquaman 2 (December 16, 2022) 2022) by James Wan with Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry and Shazam!  Fury of the Gods (June 2, 2023) with Zachary Levi and Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson, the latter currently undated.
